CHILD FIND REQUIREMENTS

Preschool InformationChild Find Requirements

The Continental School District participates in the Child Find program. All children who enroll in our preschool will receive an informal screening within thirty days of enrolling. We provide this program without charge to families who reside in the Continental School District. (We do not require preschool enrollment to receive this service.) The purpose of the program is to identify children age 33 months to kindergarten age who may be having difficulty with development in the areas of:

  • Hearing
  • Vision
  • Speech and language skills
  • Motor skills
  • Cognitive skills
  • Social emotional skills
  • Adaptive skills

Child Find also provides services to identified children when appropriate. Based upon the results of the screening, we may provide the opportunity for an evaluation of your child by our special education team. We will use this evaluation to determine if your child has a need requiring special education services.

To schedule a screening, please contact the preschool office at (520) 625.4581 ext. 7343.
